Sav. Although, if you’re ever around me you will see I respond to a variety of names. Often rip or any variations of rip you can think of, suh, princess (usually by the fam) or, as I like to refer to myself ” The wonderful.” I would say I’m new to the writing scene but anyone who has heard my music will quickly catch me in a lie. I guess you can say this is my first time publicly sharing my stories directly from the heart as they come. You can question, “Her music doesn’t come from the heart?” Well, you can say here it will not be coded in the same way my music is. Raw and unfiltered so everyone, even those who do not enjoy my music, can get to know me if they choose.

Throughout this blog I will talk about the many ups and downs I’ve experienced and overcome. Things in which in the moment felt completely impossible but overall became my best experiences. Stepping out of my comfort zone and doing what I feel needs to be done. Regardless if this is read by many or just me, the thought of it alone gives me a good feeling.

I’ve spent my entire life somewhat running from what I knew was best for me. Whether that came to actually pursing my writing career or taking longer on decisions when I knew exactly what I wanted. I couldn’t say this move was a horrible nor a conscious one but, it happened. All I can do from this point is allow myself to express exactly how I feel with no apologies. Human emotion or our everyday struggles are not a burden; it is actually what makes us human.

This blog will not specifically shine light on the modern connotation of the word “struggle.” You hear struggle and most likely think of negative things, something that holds you back and not the table of contents to your upcoming achievements. Im sure you’ve heard many times that you have to fail in order to win. Tell me, how many of you actually believe that’s true? You know the quick examples of failed actors and artist or most likely the most successful failure, Thomas Edison. Who all in the end succeed and told you to never give up and, how you have to fail and the rest of the “RA-RA.” Let me explain in it how it was best understood in my young stubborn mind.

Imagine the feeling in your legs after running that mile in high school. Regardless if you were number one on the track team or a bleacher bum (if you know what I mean) you felt the pain of the long 4 laps around that track. Even if you haven’t ran that dreadful mile you know the feeling of defeat in your body after a long, maybe unnecessary workout. That feeling is your defeated and destroyed muscles. They’re torn and soar and do not put the extra work in to make it easier to move your body for the remainder of that day. Your muscles have failed. Yet, they called for back up and a couple weeks later you’re left with new a new and improved muscle tone and, the strength to push yourself harder your next go around.

Overall, I guess all I’m trying to say is that the experience is what shapes us. If we do not experience things, whether good or bad, we will not have the necessary knowledge to tackle the evolved issues in the future. The problems we face are the reasons we are the people we are today. The beautiful, f*cked up, extraordinary human beings we are. There is a unique beauty in the worlds struggle: come explore it with me.
